When the Tooth Fairy Makes Her First Visit
One of those little milestones that hits harder than you expect — my son just lost his first tooth, and my heart wasn’t ready for it.

They say it happens fast, but I didn’t expect it to feel quite like this. My oldest lost his very first tooth this week, and I’m still processing how grown-up he suddenly looks.
One second, we were talking about his wiggly tooth. The next, it was out and there I was holding this tiny tooth that somehow carried so many feelings with it.
We’ve been reading books about the Tooth Fairy to get him excited (and to help me process it too if I’m being honest). I even found a little pillow and printed some fun tooth fairy cards to make it special. If you’re getting ready for this milestone too, I’m linking everything we used below to help you make it memorable.
It’s one of those “firsts” that sneaks up on you. Just like the first day of school or the first time they ride a bike, it’s a reminder that these little everyday moments really are big moments.
If your little one is about to lose their first tooth, my advice? Keep a book and a small pillow ready. But most of all — pause, take the picture, and soak it in. These days really do fly by.
