DIY Back To School Shaker Bookmarks

Make back-to-school extra special with these personalized shaker bookmarks filled with glitter and your kids’ names

DIY Shaker Bookmark

Back-to-school season always feels like the perfect time to create something a little extra special for my kids. This year, I wanted to make something personalized and fun that they could actually use and these DIY shaker bookmarks were the perfect craft. They have their names, their teacher’s names, and just enough sparkle to make them smile every time they open a book.

Supplies You’ll Need:

Canva (or any design tool)

Printer and cardstock

Scissors

Cellophane bags

Glitter or sequins

Flat iron or hot glue gun

Hole punch

Back-to-school ribbon

Steps to Make Shaker Bookmarks:

I used Canva pencil shapes with my kids’ names and their teachers’ names.

Printed and cut each pencil design.

Placed the pencils inside a cellophane bag, trimmed it to my bookmark shape, and laminated each one.

Cut the shape of the bookmark carefully, avoiding the sealed edges of the bag.

Cut across the top where the bag opening is so the glitter inside can move freely.

Added glitter to the inside of the bag for the shaker effect.

Sealed the top with the flat iron.

Hole-punched the top and added a cute back-to-school ribbon.
