if your kids are anything like mine, summer isn’t if your kids are anything like mine, summer isn’t summer without giant bubbles taking over the backyard 🫧 I finally found a recipe that actually works and I had to share it because store bought bubble solution never hits the same here’s what you need: 3 gallons distilled water 3 cups Dawn dish soap 1/2 cup glycerin 3 tablespoons baking powder stir it all together carefully and then the hard part... let it sit for an hour before you use it. Because let’s be honest, summer with kids at home can go from cute to chaotic real fast and we are not doing that this year. Here’s what’s actually working for us: We start every morning with a little anchor moment. Breakfast together, getting dressed, something small that tells everyone okay the day has started. It sounds simple but it makes such a big difference. We have set screen time windows. I am not anti screen time at all but giving it a designated slot means I am not negotiating it all day long and that alone has saved my sanity. We get out of the house at least once a day. Even if it’s just a walk or a quick errand. Something about leaving the house resets everyone including me. We do quiet time in the afternoon. My kids are past nap age but we all need a break in the middle of the day. This is also how I actually get my work done. We do a loose reset at the end of the day. Picking up, prepping for tomorrow, winding down. It signals to everyone that the day is wrapping up and it makes mornings so much smoother. If you guys don’t have routine magnets from @cherrypick yet, we have been using them all summer and they have been a total game changer for us. It helps the kids actually see the routine instead of me repeating myself a hundred times a day. Highly recommend.
